How does this fluid world of design affects us and defines our style?
How many of them are currently permanent, visible, and in-use?
We always ask those questions to ourselves while we scroll our screens, working on a new design, talking to our friends, colleagues about an artwork. In the weirdest year of them all (I mean 2020 – for sure), we have been witnessed lots of different painting, graphic design, illustration, and typography trends in both mainstream & underground media.
Concept: New (?)
The concept of “new” changes and becomes more and more fluid every day. We find ourselves while questioning stuff like “What is permanent? What is temporary? What leaves a mark on people? How long will the mark remain on people and how important is it? Where do I stand in terms of style? Do I have to have a “definite” style?”
These questions never seem to have exact answers because there are too many internal & external factors. It’s good to ask those never-ending questions to ourselves because it makes us think about the surroundings, the environment we live/work in and it eventually causes self-improvement. These are all little questions that nourish our personality, our works and take us beyond where ever we are right now.
Mainstream vs. Underground Media
No doubt that usually “mainstream versus underground” has been involved in people’s discussions on different topics. In terms of the design & art world, we love good works no matter what category it fits into and whatever technique that is made of. We think it’s important to highlight people who have enthusiasm for design & art cause we have it too!
