Cristina Arce is a Spanish illustrator and graphic designer from Santander and creates under her alter-ego Tina Lotta. Her works include finely detailed illustrations and murals of plants and animals in a symbolic language with a wide range of colors.

Tina Lotta caught our eyes with her obsession of illustrating tigresses with a rich symbolism of ancient myths and stories. Graduated from CESINE Centro Universitario with a degree in Graphic Design in 2019, Tina Lotta is highly inspired by feminism and the important women who are the influence and force behind women’s rights.

In 2019 she created a crowdfunding project called Bravas that is an illustrated book reviewing the history of feminism from the French Revolution to the end of the 20th century and is the artist’s small contribution to the revolution. The artist states that the feminist movement has given her the tools to understand the reality that surrounds us and she believes that it is the key element to achieve real social justice.

Her exhibition “La Caída De Adán” (tr. The Fall Of Adam), that took place between June 24th and July 24th, 2022, showcased artworks that question the creation of the patriarchy and the social construction that it brought, inviting the spectators to reflect and dismantle the strong beliefs that we live in.
