Japanese singer Kaori Hasegawa, also known as UA, released her latest EP Are You Romantic on May 25th. And お茶 [OCHA] is one of the leading singles from the EP. It welcomes you with a funky, vibrant jam with stellar visuals. Ocha takes place at extreme places on Earth but it adds an extraterrestrial twist with 3D and motion design elements.
Ocha means tea in Japanese and the whole story revolves around it. The moment the video started, fabrics started floating, teardrops turned into a teapot, and everything morphed together to form something bigger. The physical environment and digitally created 3D elements work great together and convey the story forward.
Video and sound create an awesome example of storytelling by using digital techniques, imagination and execution. And funky, energizing music can live by itself but the video pushes the imagined world into the reality and our eyes.
American filmmaker and scholar Wheeler Winston Dixon created “What Comes Next” a short film by only using footage and soundtracks in the Public Domain.
South Korean designer Haeri Cho directed, animated, and designed a short titled Routine Rhythms! which focuses on daily activities and their powerful rhythms.
Portland based creative studio Super Dope created quirky and funny short 3D animation Self-Care Tips with Pinkie & Handtonio to remind ourselves to work on better healthy habits.
